Jobless no more

Today I announced the end to my unemployment.

I start work on Thursday morning, contracting as a Data Analyst for Embarq.

I also mentioned it on Twitter and a lot of people shared the feeling of good news with me.

Here's just a partial screen capture of some replies. Thanks everyone.

Now, to begin the 4.2 year journey of getting everything back on track.

I won't be online as much, or at all, during the day (ya know, that job thing and all ;-) so I'll no doubt be missing out on a lot of what goes on, but just keep working towards each goal that you have and you'll reach it sooner or later.

Michael

p.s. My wife just told me that I was addicted to Twitter.

p.p.s. Now I am in trouble for saying that she said that! ;^)

So Michael, you’ve been searching for 4.2 years? Were you doing contract work during that time? Man! You get all sorts of awards for mental and emotional control. And kudos to your wife, any lifestyle well off the track everyone deems “normal” has a real subtle affect on a spouse. Especially women - who by nature desire security above all. Have fun getting (back?) into the corporate routine. Life’s a roller coaster ride, throw your hands up and scream for joy every once in a while. (Tho not actually AT work for the first few months. Just sayin’)

Well the 4.2 years is how long it’s going to take us to climb out of debt. I’ve been searching since the beginning of this year, but actually haven’t had much income for the last 2 years, because I was pursuing a passion to create applications/services for the social media space.
