About Mobasoft

posted by mbailey

The beginning

Mobasoft started off as a web site design and hosting company.

In 2005, I started listening to several podcasts and watching some video blogs.
It was around that time when I decided to utilize my programming skillset to develop tools for the podcasting and video blogging community.

One of the first online aggregators

I initially created FeedTheNetwork.com (now on hiatus) which was probably one of the first online audio and video aggregator sites. Each content producer had their own "channel" and all of the audio and video content was readily available for people to search and enjoy. After the maintenance of more than 2,000 channels, and numerous "bad RSS feeds" I decided to pull the plug. These days, there are so many sites doing the same thing, that I really wouldn't have much to offer the community if I were to place the site back into service.

Time-Shifted Audio with Real-Time Events

The next development project that I decided to do was a post-production service which allowed for the real-time display of images and links to be syncronized with the playback of an audio file (mp3). I called the service AudioMerge and the site is still in operation at http://www.audiomerge.com.

Syncronized Video

Building on the idea from AudioMerge, I decided to see what it would look like using video. SyncroCast.com was born, and is currently only offering a demo of what the final result might look like. I still think there are numerous benefits to a system like that, but I haven't found anyone who is willing to fund the development.

Audio Comments

Along came the time when people who were listening to podcasts wanted an easier way to leave audio comments of their own.
I cranked out an audio comment system, now known as MyChingo and it has grown to over 6,100 members (as of March, 2007).

Not to be out done

I figured that since I had created such an easy to use audio commenting system, that I might as well take it to the next level.
The next development project I started was something called the MobaTalk Multimedia Comment System and the first release of it is target towards WordPress blogs (since that seems to be what most people are using at this time). I hope to have the initial beta-test underway in April, 2007.

What the future holds…

Well, who knows, really? One thing is for sure, if I give up now, then nothing will get accomplished.

  1. Dayngr Said,

This is one of the best “about” pages I’ve read. Kudos and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you.

  2. Adam Said,

This may sound crass - it’s not meant to be - but why don’t you just talk to each of the collection agencies long enough to get their mailing address, send each a certified letter asking that per the fair debt credit act they not contact you by phone and work only by postal mail with you that you may have a record of communication? No more collection calls, no more need to look at caller id or be afraid of answering the phone.

  3. Wes Aubrey Said,

    Does Mobasoft offer internships?

  4. mbailey Said,

    Wes, no sorry, I don’t.
But, if you would like to have a bunch of work to do, without getting paid for it, I’m sure that I have a dozen things around here that I could send your way.
